the brief
The Duck box had been running since 2020. Customers loved it, kept it, gifted it. But buying one box was a complete experience with no reason to come back for another. The brief was to change that. Turn packaging into something customers needed to collect, not just own.
the challenge
Collectible packaging only works if the thing you're collecting actually means something. Slapping a number on a box and calling it a series isn't enough. The concept had to be built into the design itself, where owning one box felt incomplete in a way that made you want the other two, not annoyed. Taking Mosaad into iconic art history, splitting each painting across three rectangular boxes, and making the full image only visible when all three stood side by side gave customers a real reason to come back twice more.
the result
Launched in 2024 and immediately drove repeat purchases in sets of three. Customers who bought one came back for the rest. The puzzle mechanic turned a single transaction into a small obsession, and the art-inspired illustrations gave the boxes a shelf life long after the socks were gone.
